.ES Domain Registration Requirements Print

The .ES country code top-level domain name (ccTLD) is an extension representing Spain.

When registering an .ES domain, you should remember that:

- it should be available for registration;
- it should comply with the rules of syntax;
- it should not be included into the list of prohibited words;
- it should not be included into the list of reserved words.

The Registrant, Technical and Billing Contacts of an .ES domain name may either be a natural person/individual or a company. The Admin Contact must be natural person/individual only.

While registering an .ES domain, you need to specify some additional information as follows:

1) Registrant ID Type: You may choose to provide us with any of the following identification details:

- VAT ID (DNI or NIF): Select this option if you can provide us with either your Spanish National Personal ID or your company VAT ID number.
- Resident alien ID (NIE): Select this option if you can provide us with your Spanish resident alien ID number.
- Generic ID: Select this option if you do not have any of the above mentioned IDs, but can provide us with any of the following documents - your Passport number, any Foreign ID document number, Company Registration number, Driver’s License number, etc.

2) Registrant ID Number: Depending on the option you selected above, you need to provide the ID's number here.

3) Administrative ID Type:

- Generic ID: Select this option if you can provide us with any Foreign ID document number, Passport number, Driver’s License number.

- National Identity: Select this option if you can provide us with your Spanish National Personal ID (DNI/NIF).

- Resident alien ID (NIE): Select this option if you can provide us with your Spanish resident alien ID number.

 

4) Administrative ID Number: You need to provide the ID's number depending on the option you selected above.



IMPORTANT: The .ES registry has recently introduced new requirements for the domain names registration. It is necessary to specify the legal entity now. It should be selected from the list below:
